How to Choose a Bed for Small Bedroom

A simple wood platform bed with a shallow headboard and tapered legs would be a good choice for a small bedroom.

Headboard

Straight headboards take up less space than curved styles and are better suited to rooms with limited space. Consider a headboard that is straight, 50 inches high and less than six inches deep. Headboard covered with tufted or flat fabric can be secured to the wall or to the box spring. Upholstered headboards are the most comfortable for reading in bed.

Footboard

Footboard take up a lot of room and make it difficult to walk in a tight space. Large canopy beds and wooden sleigh beds can present problems for the same reasons.
